- Clothing: The diverse climates of Peru call for a versatile wardrobe. We recommend packing:
- Short-sleeved and long-sleeved shirts for layering
- A fleece jacket for warmth
- Thermal underwear for cooler mornings and evenings
- Wool socks to keep your feet warm and dry
- Lightweight pants for comfortable trekking
- A warm hat to protect against the chill
- Daypack: A small backpack is essential for carrying daily items like water, snacks, and personal belongings during your excursions.
- Rain Protection: Weather can be unpredictable, so a rain gear or poncho is vital to stay dry.
- Footwear: Invest in a sturdy pair of hiking boots with good ankle support to navigate the rugged terrain safely.
- Lighting: A flashlight or headlamp, along with extra batteries, will be invaluable during early morning or late evening activities. Remember, batteries may deplete quicker in cold conditions.
- Photography Equipment: Capture stunning landscapes and unforgettable moments with your camera. Don’t forget extra film and batteries, especially since cold weather can reduce battery life.
- Skincare: High altitudes and sun exposure require extra care.
- Hydrating face and body lotion to prevent dry skin
- High-SPF sunblock to protect from UV rays
- Insect repellent to ward off mosquitoes and other insects
- Hydration: Metal or Nalgene water bottles are recommended, as plastic bottles are not environmentally friendly and are often not allowed on trails.
