It is in the Peruvian Andes Mountains; Humantay Lake is a spectacular natural wonder famed for its natural turquoise color at the base of the Humantay Mountain and Surrounded by snowcapped glaciated peaks in Vilcabamba mountain range. Normally seen on the 5 day/4night Salkantay Trek to Machu Picchu.

Day 1:Cusco-Soraypampa-lake – Humantay-Soraypampa- Cusco

We will pick you up early morning at 05:00am in our private transportation from your hotel, and then we will drive 3 hours to get the start of the hike Soraypampa 3800m/12,467ft. Located in the beautiful valley with amazing views of the Andes mountains. After eating box breakfast, we we will start with our 2-hour uphill hike to the impressive Humantay lake located at 4200m/13,779ft.  Once we arrive to the area enjoy the wonderful turquoise water of Humantay lake one of the most stunning places in the Cusco region. After enjoying the stunning views and take amazing pictures we will return to Mollepata village to enjoy lunch and afterward we will take our private transportation back to hotel in Cusco arriving around 17:00pm.

  • Small pack to carry things that you will need during the day
  • Rain gear or poncho
  • Hiking boots with ankle support
  • Flashlight/headlamp and batteries
  • Camera, film and batteries (batteries die faster in cold conditions)
  • Hydrating face and body lotion
  • Sun block and insect repellent
  • Water bottles (Nalgene or metal ones are required, plastic bottles are not allowed)
  • Toilet paper and tissues
