Inca Trail permits are released on October 01st each year. The Peruvian government only delivers 500 Permits per day (meaning 200 permits are allocated for travelers and the rest for cooks, Guides, and porters) due to the conservation and huge popularity of this unparalleled Trail.
Independent trekking on the classic Inca Trail to Machu Picchu without a registered tour guide is no longer possible since 2001. Each hiker on the trail must be accompanied by an official tour guide. Therefore, only registered tour companies – like Juve Travel Peru can purchase permits and you’ll need to go through a tour operator to buy one.

How to book your Inca Trail permits
In order to book with our Company Juve Travel Peru, you need to click in the book now bottom below, then choose the departure date, then fill out all the personal information such as: full name, Passport number, Nationality, Birthday date, Age, and Genre. The last step is the payment which you can pay with credit or debit card. Please send us only the deposit and the outstanding balance you can pay us here in Cusco at our office which is Maques Street #250, Second floor. Office 03.

Student Discount
Your student card offers you financial benefits when hiking to the Inca trail. With a valid university card, you are entitled to a discount. The discount only applies to students under25-years-old. This may vary from company to company, but should be around a $25 discount! In order to get this discount, you need to send the agency a copy of your card and travel with the card on the trail. If you do not bring your card with you on the trail you will be forced to pay the full Price at the trailhead. ISIC cards are not valid for the discount anymore.
If you are planning to hike Inca Trail on your next trip to Peru, we highly recommend you to book your permit at least 8 months in advance, especially in the high season which is from May to September.
Cost
We pay for a customer permit 292 Peruvian soles, and for the porter permit 50 soles. Only Authorized Inca Trail tour companies are able to buy those Permits. One of the Company is Juve Travel Peru. Important Notes:
The Inca trail permits are non-refundable and non-transferable to another person because the Ministry of culture does not give back the travel companies any money when clients change dates or cancel. The agency then has to purchase a new permit if a client changes dates.
You have to provide the agency the same passport details that you will be traveling with to Peru. There are 4 checkpoints along the trail and Inca trail guards will check the permits against your passport; if a new passport doesn’t match the document listed on the permit, you are not allowed to start your trek! If you are renewing your passport, you need to send a copy of your old Passport and the new passport to the travel company so they can change it for you.
INCA TRAIL PERMITS FOR 2023 WILL BE RELEASED ON OCTOBER 10TH
Inca trail permits for 2023 will be released in this order:
- On October 10th, 2022: Permits will be released for January 2023.
- On October 11th, 2022: Permits will be released for Mach 2023.
- On October 12th, 2022: Permits will be released for April 2023.
- On October 13th, 2022: Permits will be released from May 01st – 15th, 2023.
- On October 14th, 2022: Permits will be released from May 15th – 31st, 2023.
- On October 17th, 2022: Permits will be released for June 2023.
- On October 18th, 2022: Permits will be released for July 2023.
- On October 19th, 2022: Permits will be released from August to December, 2023
